recently i watched a movie - "the painted veil", written by W. Somerset Maugham. its about a english couple who got married and struggled to find there love and cross the distance between them. as the baseline of the movie goes - "sometimes the greatest journey is the distance between two people." walter, a middle class doctor and kitty, an upper-class woman -- get married for the wrong reasons and relocate to Shanghai, where she falls in love with someone else. when he uncovers her infidelity, in an act of vengeance, he accepts a job in a remote village in China ravaged by a deadly epidemic, and takes her along. their journey to the epidemic worn village brought meaning to their hateful relationship. its a very touching story and a real one. a relationship depends on how much compromise you can make with your expectations. once they come to an equilibrium it gets ideal. a finely edited and acted movie in the heaven like backdrop of china.
